North Texas here we come...

I know, I know… I stink at keeping people up to date on things. I have been terribly inconsistent with this blog. Bear with me and I will see if I can bring things up to date. Big news is my company is relocating me up to Plano. That is right, we are leaving Austin. I have been here for 15 years and didn’t plan on ever living in another Texas city but this is a pretty good opportunity to stay with the company. I feel like I need some closure with this company.

They are giving me several months to transition over so that will help because right now the economy is doing everything it can to make selling a house difficult. Amber and the kids are full for it and I think it will be good to expand the world our kids think they have figured out. If we don’t sell quickly, we have to do something creative like have me go up ahead of them and rent a room or something until we sell. Depends on timing and we are going to try to minimize the impact to the kids school year first and foremost.

What is going on with everyone you ask? Well, everyone is good. Oh, you wanted me to elaborate. I can do that. We are finding out that Maxman is a reading machine. He has already met his yearly reading goal before we have even gotten to the holiday break. He also has the ability to tune everything and everyone out and focus on the task at hand. I have it, Luc has it, and now I see Max has it. It will probably infuriate the significant others in all of our lives for generations to come. Hehe.

His soccer team wrapped up the fall season this past Saturday as the only undefeated team in his division. They had a tie or two but won everything else. He was a little disappointed that he didn’t get a goal in the last game but he was on defense for the first half and played goalie for a lot of the second half of the match. He has progressed incredibly this year but he still needs to work on his aggression. He thinks everyone should be nice and pass the ball. That is the opposite of what most kids his age think you should do. I tell him that if he played everyone with the intensity he saves for his older brother, he would have tons more opportunities. Really proud of how quickly he progressed this season.

Karah is as adorable as ever. She wrapped up her soccer season as well this past weekend. She is all about the social aspects of it as you could imagine, so she was more excited about the after season party invitation than she ever was about the game itself. That is fine with us as we only really wanted to get them outside more and I think we accomplished that. She is probably already deciding what she is going to wear with the party two weeks out.

I think she likes the idea of moving to Dallas after Amber pitched the artwork/fashion angle to her. She just told her that there were tons more things to see in a very fashion forward city like that. We are wondering if there aren’t some classes we can get her in where she can learn to draw people and clothing in a quick sketch style. She is genuinely interested in fashion and all she really draws anyway is people and clothes. I know there are lots of things available to them in a city of that size so we may investigate that a little more.

Luc may have broken another finger. I say its jammed, Amber suspects broken. She is erring on the side of caution and taking him in to have it looked at today. It happened with Max and him wrestling or running into each other, I don’t know. I couldn’t get a straight answer out of either of them. If it is, I am instituting a mandatory one full glass of milk rule for Luc to be carried out daily under my supervision. He likes it so it shouldn’t be an issue. He is growing like a weed so we are concerned about his growth plates and injuries.

His soccer season is not over. They are going into the CAYSA tournament this coming weekend and his team will probably play 3 games on Saturday and again Sunday afternoon if they make it into the finals. Only the top invited teams get to play and it’s like the area championships. He already says that he is playing no matter what they say about his hand so it may get wrapped for a couple of days. I am thrilled that he is excited about his team because he wouldn’t come out of his shell as recently as last year. I owe him a good hike or hiking trip once the season wraps up.

Amber is subbing at lots of schools for lots of teachers. She stays booked about a week ahead which makes her pretty popular girl as far as I can tell. I am sure she will just love my use of the term “popular girl”. Maybe that is not the first time, I don’t know. ;]

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas. I cannot believe that the holidays are already here. I feel like I am stuck back in the early part of the year wondering what happened. We are heading to San Angelo this time for turkey day and it will be good to catch up with everyone.

What can I bring? I mean it.
