Sorry folks. I have not been really good at this lately. I vow to try to be more consistent. Lots of things happening and I have not been good about keeping everyone in the loop.
My grandma Binion is not doing well. She has been at an assisted living center in San Angelo for a good while now and she seems to have had some sort of congestive heart failure. Coupled with her emphysema, she will continue to struggle. I have seen her recently and was very grateful to visit with her as she seemed very coherent and was in good spirits. She cannot get out of bed, she is on oxygen full time and she isn’t eating much of anything so I suspect her condition will deteriorate. Hospice is checking on her regularly. I had to convince my uncles (her sons) that they need to go see her soon and I think I only got through to Hal. He did visit her a few days ago and her condition is not as good as it was a week ago when I was there. I will probably see her again this coming weekend. I am praying that she doesn’t suffer in all this.
Went out of town for the Q2 company update earlier this week and it looks like we are really going to IPO. We are entering what is called a “quiet period” where the bankers are doing due diligence on us and we cannot divulge quarterly earnings or anything financial for a while. Could be exciting… still cannot believe that I may actually get some closure on this after all these years. I came to this startup just before the tech bubble was exploding we all assumed we would only be here for a year or two. You know, time enough to go IPO or get acquired. Little did we realize that this road would be this bumpy or this long.
Lets see what has happened lately…
Luc and I were baptized by Amber’s father Fred Daughtry at FBC Pville. It was great that he could be a part of this.
My cousin Mark and his wife Stacy had a healthy baby boy last week. His name is Ian Scott Hiedelberg. I think they are doing great and I am very happy for them.
My brother jumped out of an airplane with another guy (and a parachute) attached. Awesome stuff. He was totally jazzed and it looked pretty cool. I took lots of pictures so once I get them scanned, I will post a few if anything looks good.
Taking a week and a half off starting next week. Going to take the kids lots of places before summer ends because I don’t want them to get stir-crazy having to be home all summer with the other kids Amber watches. Planning on a trip to my Mom’s (Babo), San Angelo for family, Fiesta Texas water park (water park all day) and probably a kayaking outing or two as well. Oh and some time on the bike.
I have been pretty good about riding my bike lately and have ridden 3-4 times a week for several weeks now. One of my shorts are starting to need a belt so lets hope that trend continues. I actually had started to outgrow my belts earlier this year. That is definitely a sign of problems. Oh well, I am on the right path now.
My friend Stefan and his wife Mellissa went to Germany for a couple of weeks and he didn’t have a place for his car so I offered up a garage spot at our house. He was thankful, and so was I. It is a Porsche 911 Turbo. Very cool car. Some of the neighborhood is waving at me now when they didn’t prior. To date I only took a short spin in it as it requires full attention when driving it and I would need some time to get accustomed to the clutch as its 3-4 times heavier than the car I currently drive. Longer throw shifter, very tail happy dynamics and ownership by someone other than myself will probably see me leave this car alone for the most part.
Ok, I think I have hit the highlights. I will try to be more consistent. Hope you all are doing well.

Starting a walk...
I came forward yesterday. I had made the decision a while back but I took this last step in formally deciding to live my life as God intended. Luc walked down with me and held my hand most of the time. When I told him a week ago that I wanted to come forward, he cried, hugged me and then told me that he wanted to walk down with me because he wanted everyone to know that I was the “best dad in the world”. I don’t know about that last part but it sure made me swell up inside to hear him say it. ;]
